Meet the minister
A message from Gregg Strawn

At Circle Church of Christ, we recognize that we are all on a spiritual journey. Our goal is to experience God as we join him in the life adventure of pursuing his mission for the world. He wants all of us to be people who live and speak in a way that opens doors for God's reign over lives to be continually expanding.

We recognize that this goal is best achieved within a loving community, a community that is willing to share life together. This means that we want those attending to not only feel welcomed, we want them to know that they are loved by God and the people of God. It also means that we want to be open to each other's joys and pain. Finally, it means that we will be part of an ongoing conversation with each other and with the Scripture. In those ancient words, we find the basis for our contemporary Christ life.
As a church of Christ, it's not surprising that we exist to live out Jesus' life and words. Consequently, we are committed to loving the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength. An aspect of that is, loving our neighbors as we love ourselves. We are also committed to fulfilling the mission Jesus Christ has given His church: making disciples of all peoples.

Information about me:

When I was in my early 20's, I made the decision to live seriously as a Christian. In Jesus and his words, I find ongoing challenge. My first inclination was to be a Music teacher, but God picked me up and tossed me into full time ministry. I have been on staff with Circle Church of Christ since 1981, first serving as Campus Minister, and presently as Minister of the Word. Few things thrill me as much as the experience of opening the Bible with a person who is exploring the possibility of becoming a disciple of Jesus. I love walking with people towards the decision of faith and on to having their own bold ministry.

I have been married for 29 eventful years. My wife's faithfulness to God and servant heart is tireless. We have two grown children who have both made the faith their own.

Books I've sampled recently:

They Like Jesus, But Not the Church, Dan Kimball
The Hardy Boys: The Short Wave Mystery, Franklin W. Dixon
The New Testament in Its Social Environment, Stambaugh and Balch
II Peter, God
